Mouse Holders - CHT247
CH-247 tubes are designed to accommodate
laboratory mice. They fit into the standard connector cones and
wire supports which then attach to the inhalation exposure system.
The CH-247 also uses a similar pusher system. The position of
the pusher is adjusted, based on the size of the animal, keeping
it secured in place. |
||
The CH-247 tubes also have molded feet, similar to those of the
CH-250, which keep it anchored in the wire support, preventing
it from dislodging from the unit. |
||
Waste collection is done in a similar, yet smaller scaled, method
as in the CH-250. Waste is channeled through a trough in the
bottom of the tube and collects in a centrifuge tube attached
to the wire support. |
||
CH-247 tubes are also available in a closed model, designed exposures
using highly toxic atmospheres. The first of two varieties of
closed tubes is shown below. This unit uses a standard open mouse
tube mounted inside of a sealed CH-2500. |
||
This view shows the mouse holder, the rail/front seal and
the rear closure. The rail, available in aluminum or stainless
steel, integrates a trough for urine collection. A flushing or sampling
device can also be attached to the rear closure. This unit assures complete
containment during highly toxic or radio labeled exposure, and
are used by University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. |
||
The second variation of closed tubes is slightly less elegant,
yet more economical. It consists of a standard CHT-247 mouse
tube sealed with polycarbonate inserts. Although lower in cost,
it does have limited measuring and handling capacities. |
