Exposure systems are available in a variety of configurations, including 12 port, 24 port, and
single animal nose-only exposure systems. The key feature of these CHT systems is the patented method of exposure. Also available is a special sealed and gimbaled unit, for use with highly toxic atmospheres/agents. In addition, under development is a custom non-modular system equipped with 64 ports or more.
12 Port Nose-Only Modular
The Jaeger-NYU
Nose-Only Directed Flow Inhalation Exposure System (12 port)
for Mice, Hamsters, Rats and Guinea Pigs. Systems are in use
around the world. A non-confidential list of referrals (purchasers)
may be sent on request. |
||
The system is modular and accepts additional units which are
stacked vertically, adding 12 ports for each layer used. |
||
Cleaning is a simple matter with easy and fast disassembly after
each use. |
||
24 Port Nose-Only | ||
All-Teflon Nose Only directed flow exposure unit developed for NYU's Nelson
Institute of Environmental Medicine |
||
The original Coggins-Baumgartner Inhalation system. Units in use at the Harvard
School of Public Health, Wayne State University and elsewhere. |
||
64 Port Nose-Only Mouse Vaccine
![]()
This compact 64-port system allows large-number nose-only mouse exposure to be conducted in a relatively low amount of space. Picture and drawing shows a 4-layer, 16 port unit (4 x 16 =64). Other designs based on a 16-port layer are possible (e.g. 16, 32, 48, 80, 96 ...) Although the vertical height of the unit obviously increases with more layers, the base dimension, just over 18 inches wide, does not change -- and this included fully loaded CHT257 Mouse Tubes. Although this design is not modular, outstanding features of this unit include reduced weight, reduced footprint, and custom fabrication to your testing requirements. Note that this unit will not accomodate rats, guinea pigs, or animals larger than mice at this time. |
||
Single Animal Nose-Only Systems
Single animal exposure
units for most rodents. Available in 3 and 6 inch sizes with
sealed ends for flow through exposures. Developed by Arden James
and Owen Moss of the CIIT, RTP, NC. |
||
Single animals can be exposed to aerosols or gases using this single
animal unit. Multiple units can be connected for small
scale bench top work. Useful as an adjunct controlled exposure
unit for pulmonary measurements. Pulmonary physiology units are
available from BUXCO, Troy, NY. |
||
Experiments of a smaller scale can be carried out on a bench-top
with CH Technologies single animal exposure units. |
||
These units connect to all the various CH tubes and are compatible
with all the aerosol generators. |
||
Highly Toxic Agent System
This system employs multi-axis rotation capability for advanced
decontamination regimen, assuring complete wetting of all internal
surfaces. The system is constructed of 316 series stainless steel on all agent pathways,
and 304 SS on base and structure components. Proprietary YAW bearing allows 360 degree
rotation in any ROLL position, yet requires no maintenance and is compatible with complete washdown. |
||
System base allows 360 degree ROLL rotation (180 degrees with wire tube supports in place) at any time.
Standard CH port interfaces are used, allowing full compatibility with a wide range of animal holders,
plethysmographs, and instrumentation. Hard Teflon coated feet, along with all 316 stainless internal construction
makes this system compatible with highly toxic agents and associated decontamination, including those used in
chemical warfare R&D. |
||
Ultra-low volume delivery pathway (less than 100cc) assures rapid concentration rise, stability, and minimum
agent consumption. Overall design is user-friendly and ideal for full-containment glovebox or P4 facility implementation.
Proprietary decontamination system was designed by S&S Diversified, Nanuet, NY
and is available as a CH Technologies exclusive. |
